Initial and ongoing Faith Formation are crucial constituents of Discipleship and Parish Life. As a ministry serving the Parish Partnership of Holy Trinity and St. Stephen Parishes, the Director of Faith Formation is given primary oversight of all aspects of Parish Faith Formation, support of Catechetical Team members through collaboration and sharing resources, and, with pastoral leadership, to develop, plan, and implement the components of a comprehensive Faith Formation Process.
“Onsite Faith Formation Coordinators” collaborate with the Director of Faith Formation and are responsible for assuring that each parishes Catechetical and Sacramental Preparation meets program expectations.
The Director of Faith Formation would also supervise and collaborate with faculty and staff of Holy Trinity Catholic School’s Religious Educational Instruction programming.
Support Catechists for Sunday Faith Formation (PSR), Adult Faith Formation, Rites of Christian Initiation of Children/Youth, Holy Trinity School Religious Instruction and Sacramental Preparation, and collaborate, as necessary, with the Marriage Preparation coordinators.
Review all Faith Formation materials for content to meet and/or supplement Diocesan Faith Formation program expectations.
Maintain Catechetical Certification for Parish and School Catechists.
Develop an evaluative process with which to update and modify, if necessary, all Faith Formation components to meet growing and changing Parish [and School] needs.
Collaborate with the Pastoral Team and Worship Commissions/Committees to assist with planning liturgies for the celebrations of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation/First Holy Communion and Confirmation, retreats, seminars, and Faith Formation related events.
Prepare and manage Faith Formation budgets in collaboration with the Holy Trinity and St. Stephen Finance Councils.
A credential in Catechetical Ministry, or equivalent.
A minimum of five years’ experience directing a Faith Formation (or Parish School of Religion) Program/Process.
Keep current and maintain Faith Formation files and recordkeeping.
Demonstrate positive, professional and good interpersonal rapport with Formation Team, Parish’s Staff, Parishioners, [as well as, Students, Parents, Caregivers, Faculty and Staff].
No prior felonies.
Ability to maintain confidentialities in all matters.
Terms and Compensation
Designated office space at each parish – shared with Onsite Coordinator at St. Stephen.
A flexible and agreed upon weekday and weekend schedule.
A shared annual salary between the two parishes based upon experience with a bi-monthly pay period.
An annual evaluation and review conducted by the Pastor at the end of the fiscal year.
Termination for a just cause would be at the discretion of the Pastor with review by the Parish Management Coordinator
