Opening for Director of Recruitment and Admissions

Aquinas Institute of Theology invites application for a full-time Director of Recruitment and Admissions beginning July 1, 2017. The candidate should possess a baccalaureate or master’s degree and have a strong record in educational recruitment and admissions.

The Director of Admissions contributes significantly to Aquinas Institute of Theology’s mission as a Roman Catholic school of theology and ministry sponsored by the Order of Preachers. The Director provides leadership in facilitating the day-to-day operation of the admissions office and oversees ongoing development and implementation of a recruitment and enrollment plan based on the strategic imperatives of the Institute. The Director reports to the academic dean and president and collaborates with other administrative directors, faculty, and staff in recruiting and retaining a diverse student body and expanding the school’s educational mission to new markets.

Required Qualifications:

Areas of Responsibility:

  • To provide administrative and supervisory leadership

    • To admissions staff, student workers, and the admissions review committee

    • To all student recruitment activities and admission procedures

    • To short and long range planning for programs, processes, and procedures

  • To facilitate overall operation of the admissions office

    • Working with administrative directors and admissions staff to assure high standards of recruitment and admission

    • Maintaining vibrant, proactive, and personal communication and coordinating school visits with prospective students according to their stage in the recruitment and admissions process

    • Collaborating with staff to develop, implement, and evaluate recruitment and marketing materials and to promote ministry and teaching in the church as a career option and vocation

    • Planning and overseeing recruitment travel and networking locally, regionally, and nationally

    • Providing updated recruitment and admissions databases and reports

    • Preparing and administering the admissions budget

    • Participating as needed in meetings of the administrative directors, staff, faculty, and trustees and other community functions

    • Maintaining professional affiliations with the Student Personnel Administrators Network of the Association of Theological Schools and the National Association of Graduate Admission Professionals
