Stefani Aubuchon- Stefani is our new Recruitment Specialist in the Admissions Office. From a professional point of view, she is a delight to work with. As a current student, I’m very excited about her enthusiasm and passion for our mission. Her blog will be set up soon.

Br. Luke, OP- Br. Luke is a first year student brother for the (central) province of St. Albert the Great. He has a deep love for Christmas music (and listens to it year round, which I try not to hold against him) and is a very talented musician himself. His blog will be set up soon.

Br. Thomas, OP- Br. Thomas is a first year student brother for the (southern) province of St. Martin de Porres. He’s blogged more in the past week that I have this semester! It’s definitely worth the read, especially the video about his province. Wow!

As a reference, HERE is the list of all the AI bloggers.

CPE has ended… my two weeks of summer flew by (which I spent sleeping in, seeing my friend Jackie get married, and watching season 2 of Heroes)… and now here I am nearly two weeks into my last (!) semester! There are so many new things to share, I just don’t know where to begin.

This week I began working at Aquinas (again). A change in plans led me back to working in the Admissions office. Having been my home-away-from-home the past two years, I’m excited to work with Jen and Dave in the office. Heck, the more I get to talk about Aquinas the happier I am!

Newly added to my plate this semester is my third semester of SPM (Supervised Practice of Ministry- aka “Field Ed”) and my time (8-10 hrs/wk) at Sacred Heart Villa. I’ll be working with five classes of children, ages 3-6, in the atrium. I’m so excited to gain more experience in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Although, I must admit it’s a bit scary to entertain the idea of working with such young children after being with 9-12 year old the past few years!

Well, that gets me started for now… more on my classes in an upcoming post! Happy New Semester!

I’ve always wanted to go to a World Youth Day. The closest I ever got was being in Canada a few months before the Toronto WYD… which must have been back in 2002. In any case, I’ve spent the past week praying for all the pilgrims in Sydney–those I knew and those I didn’t. And, surprise, surprise, I’ve also been reading the blog-o-sphere for updates.

So when I came across this blog I naturally had to share. It’s called The Love and Life Site. It’s a series of reflections put together about WYD and the impact it’s had on young people. The women writing the entries are all members of the Sisters of Life. A dear friend of mine is feverishly trying to pass the bar exam and pay off her loans so she can join these sisters! Happy Reading!

EDIT: A friend of mine just drew my attention to the Dominican World Youth Day Blog.

Despite how I might wish to blog more regularly this summer, I doubt that will be a reality. Needless to say, these first few weeks of summer have been QUITE busy. My mom came to visit and it was truly lovely. I’m now in my third week of CPE and well into hospital lingo and learning more about pastoral care. My housemates and I welcomed a new member into our “clan”. (And I moved into a new room in the house, too.) My window boxes are full of flowers that are still managing to endure through the heat. Lastly, I’m headed up to Chicago for a few days to see the final profession of five wonderful Dominican brothers. Please join me in praying with and for them!
